It's November!

So much has happened and so much is still happening. Feeling very grateful with everything. Seeing Twilight in a new light, amongst a million other things and most importantly looking forward to the vacation to give my home studio a new lease of life with making print and type. Thank you life.

Twilight Italics @Outsider

High time to move on with the italics. Will be showcased at upcoming OUTSIDER: ANTI-ELITIST FASHION ART FESTIVAL @BIGBOX 20-22 Oct. Feels so good to be back!

Excitement Ahead

Upcoming showcase in the midst of making with the students. A splendid discovery on the pairing of Twilight and Ucleus. My very first compatible type couple. Tremendous potential to do so much more with these pair. Feels so good to be back!

Twilight (after 2 years)

Thank you Luc his candid take on Twilight in a scientific light: a monoline font that simulates synapses on the surface of neurons. On hindsigtht, Twilight was started 2 years back. Although I have been 'using' it (as artworks), it remains 'incomplete' due to the unresolved ligatures **time to rethink Twilight**

Twilight is a monolinear bilingual san-serif hairline display family that exudes presence and gains mass at its anatomical joints. Elegant and subdue but not at the expense of being flat. Twilight draws attention as an understated style of quietude and allure with the sumptuous array of ligatures.

Unprecedented New High - 14 characters

After endless mountains and rivers that leave doubt of any path ahead, one suddenly encounters the shade of a willow, bright flowers and a lovely village.

Twilight Chinese + Italic

So, Twilight has a potential Chinese sibling, the italic (one so far) looks like a sure way to kill myself. Well done to have successfully distracted myself to another never-to-be-finished project. Kill the eyes and feed the soul.

Twilight Ligatures

Week one in school was pretty rough. Today is a beautiful Saturday. I need to take stock of my overdue work such as Twilight. The ligatures are obviously looking as lost and bewildered as ever. There are still some design elements I have not come into terms with. Perhaps releasing the uprights will make the goal more achievable...I will make a date with you again this Christmas.

Me, Myself and My Time

Slowly but surely, gearing towards 'Me, Myself and My Time' as the semester is closing to a swift e.n.d... Mad preparation for the show in January next year. There pretty much goes another year in a flash *bittersweet*

S.O.S

Having a little crisis of the inability to 'get back', must have been away for too long. Hoping some typesetting can help get me back on track. Week 12 in school to-date. Seriously cannot wait for semester to be over! Geezzz.....

Italics Redraw

The slant angle which I have been using with the lowercase and ligatures unfortunately did not turn out well with the uppercase. In short, it simply looks too unstable for the bulky caps. This is what happens when one is away too long from one's craft. Simply forgot to test the slant angle on both upper and lowercase before implementation. Now, I have to negotiate a new slant angle that looks stable on both and rework my (previously done) lowercase, not forgetting the laundry list of ligatures **Ouch!**
